Changing Photography culture

Some unwarranted facts about me are that I never have the right shoes haha and my camera is always in imminent danger.

I believe in used cameras, cheap laptops, and learning how to do the best you can with what you have. I’m a completely self taught photographer and when I started I sucked bad and no one wanted to help me even when I asked. Kindness and collaboration felt hard to find. It was extremely hard for me to become a photographer and not quit the many times that I wanted to. There have been times that I sold my cameras and said I was done.

It was a lonely road, I felt dumb a lot of the time, social media felt like an impossibility, and there were millions on millions of other photographers out there. I self-compared and doubted myself. I had NO MONEY. I saved and saved to go to a couple workshops, hoping to invest in my business and left feeling nothing but despair for what else I could have spent the money on, like a car repair.

Workshops were not what I thought they were. They seemed more like content days when I was there to push and learn and invest in my future. These reasons all tied into why I started building my workshops as they are. Because I’ve been the one with nothing that couldn’t afford the class or get anyone to answer my pleas for help.

The workshops that I am about to release are full of teaching moments in everything from posing to lighting, breed standards, extensive editing, camera settings and mechanics, composition, workflow, social media, marketing tips, and more. They are challenging shoots and fully guided. You won’t be fighting for a shoot spot and we will collaborate and discuss anything that is acting as a hurdle to you.

My goal is to change the culture quite a bit and set a new expectation for workshops. The quality and amount of content and the beautiful destinations that I am about to release will give one of a kind finishes to your websites and portfolios. I will help you network while we are together. I want to be the one helping someone so that they don’t feel the way I did when I started, or when I felt like giving it up.

I will do anything to get the shot (as seen below), and will do anything to help someone else take that shot as well. You will leave knowing that the investment was worth every cent.
