Tailor Mayde Dog & Pet Photography
I've been home for just a couple days now from Sarahs Montana/Wyoming workshop and I'm still trying to wrap my head around all of the unique opportunities and experiences she had planned for us.
She was able to fit so much diversity into just a few days. From a Gypsy Vanner in a canyon at sunrise, to tracking down the wild horse herd in the afternoon and then off to a pack shoot with moose antlers by sunset. That was just day 1!
During each session, she told us her exact camera settings for each angle as we moved around the subject while explaining WHY she chose the settings she did. She did this for every single pose with every single person and animal.
As a seasoned photographer, I went into this with the thought of photographing the way I typically do all of my sessions and getting some beautiful content to share. But instead, I learned so much from Sarah that I wasn't expecting. She encouraged us to step out of our comfort zones which went against everything I was ever comfortable with. For example, shooting in full sun as well as just into the very last light of the blue hour.
On top of sharing her settings, she also spent time showing us how she edits these images.
She is going, going, going. Sleeping a couple hours here and there when she can but when shes awake, shes working her butt off. Models would drop out last minute and she would put something comparable together in the blink of an eye and make it work great, if not better!
On top of making sure we were all taken care of and happy, feeling like we're getting what we want from her workshop, she was shopping and cooking meals for us....breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Above and beyond is the appropriate way to describe how I felt about attending her workshop.
Sarah just wants to share and help others that might be struggling with certain parts of their photography journey. She is kind, talented, creative and an open book ready to help anyone that asks.
You wont regret attending one of her workshops. They pack one hell of a punch!

I recently connected with Sarah for the first time through her Utah workshop. Having never attended a workshop previously, I was a little apprehensive on whether or not to commit to a spot as I had never seen or heard of her before, and was basing my assessment purely off of her advertisements for the workshop (which were super intriguing!) I do feel that anymore, there’s an abundance of workshops and retreats being put on by various photographers that aren’t skilled or knowledgeable enough to be teaching anyone anything, but are offering them up as a quick cash grab because their business itself is not keeping them afloat. I see over and over, people’s reviews full of disappointment after investing in one of these subpar “educational” days and as a result, lose trust in the photography community moving forward.
This is not the case with Sarah. Over the course of two days, she had meticulously curated over FIFTEEN different looks/sessions and had us shooting both ends of each day - sunrise and sunset, practicing with rapidly changing light, different angles, and unique posing that you just don’t see in most equine portraiture. In addition to all of this knowledge shared, Sarah never once gate-kept her settings (another highly prevalent issue I’ve noticed amongst “educators”) - she was there voluntarily announcing her own settings while we shot every. single. session. This is virtually unheard of in our profession for really anyone to be so eager in helping others succeed. You can just tell that Sarah cares SO much and there’s a light inside of her that wants to not only bring to life her own visions, but she wants to help others do the same. I know without a doubt if you have Sarah on your side, you have a friend, and a motivational cheerleader for life.
I would also comfortably bet that the sheer level of attention to detail and intentionality Sarah put into this workshop is likely the most intensive two-day workshop ever put on in the history of workshops… seriously. My mind was absolutely blown away. I challenge anyone to find another workshop that dedicates as much effort into bringing in gorgeous top tier models, custom-made attire, unique horses, and unmatched locations to provide such an epic experience. You’re not going to find one of this magnitude and on such a grand scale.
I don’t know what Sarah has planned for future workshops, but I promise you’re in the best hands possible whichever one you choose to attend. And if you’re on the fence about the financial commitment, don’t give it a second thought and just do it. I just had my first COWGIRL Magazine feature only a week and a half after the workshop, which literally happened because of the content I was able to create, and I already have another feature lined up in the next couple of weeks. The change my business has seen post workshop is already extraordinary and I would attend every workshop Sarah hosts ten-times over if possible.

Exquisite Equine Photography Experience with Lane Equine Photography
My recent experience with Lane Equine Photography was nothing short of extraordinary and absolutely amazing! Sarah orchestrated a flawless photoshoot that exceeded all expectations.
From the moment I contacted Sarah, her professionalism and dedication were evident. We discussed creating a unique private photography retreat, and I am truly amazed by what she pulled off. She meticulously planned every detail. The humans and horses were all stunning and unique. The models wore custom clothing—from period pieces to western outfits and incredible dresses—all accessorized beautifully with jewelry, hats, and gloves. Sarah's expertise in lighting was exceptional; she knew exactly how to capture the best angles and enhance the natural beauty of both the models and the horses.
Speaking of locations, Sarah truly delivered. The spots we visited were a photographer's dream and could easily be on anyone's bucket list. We were fortunate to have two breathtaking sunrise shoots on the beach in St. Augustine, Florida, and later, two beautiful sunset sessions with multiple models and horses. I still can't believe I got to photograph relaxed and confident horses in the surf—it was truly amazing!
Sarah also arranged a late-morning session with a newborn foal, which was incredibly adorable. The mare and foal were photographed at liberty in a large field, ensuring their comfort and relaxation were top priorities throughout all sessions.
Additionally, Sarah's knowledge of the area extended beyond photography; she recommended the best local spots for food and attractions, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
What sets Lane Equine Photography apart is not just the stunning visuals, but also Sarah's warm personality and genuine kindness. She went above and beyond by arranging transportation from the airport, stocking the Airbnb with goodies, and ensuring all our needs were taken care of. Her passion for her craft and love for horses were evident throughout our time together, creating a professional, yet incredibly friendly atmosphere.
The shoots were incredibly fun and relaxed, especially during the evening sessions with a lively and collaborative vibe among all participants, including the models, horse owners, and trainers.
In conclusion, Lane Equine Photography is a gem for anyone looking to capture the beauty of horses and their human counterparts in the most picturesque settings imaginable. Whether you're a seasoned photographer or just starting out, Sarah's expertise will challenge and inspire you to enhance your skills. Choosing Lane Equine Photography guarantees breathtaking photographs and a sense of accomplishment.
Sarah is not just a photographer; she is a true artist and a wonderful person to work with. I cannot recommend her services highly enough—my experience was simply magical!

I recently had the honor of attending The Two Day Utah Equine Workshop and there's so much to say about Sarah and Lane Equine Photography.
This being the first workshop i've ever attended, I was nervous about the idea of traveling to another state to meet with people I've never met before and wondering if it was going to be worth it.
Boy was it worth it and so much more!
From the very beginning Sarah was not only professional but friendly, patient and courteous. She answered all my questions before hand and had so many great travel tips to share that helped me feel prepared before I even made the commitment! Her kindness and excitement was ultimately what made me feel like I HAD TO BE THERE!
I was not going to miss this opportunity and I'm so glad I didn't!
She put forth so much effort in creating this workshop to be one of a kind, from the outfits and models (horses & Boomer included) to the locations and scheduling. Her transparency in this experience was phenomenal, providing shooting tips during sessions and after.
I came away not only with thousands of photos that I can't believe I captured, but with a great sense of fulfillment and more confidence in my own craft and knowledge. I loved that she was open to teaching and sharing information that a lot of people in this industry aren't willing to.
Sarah Lane you have a Heart of Gold and an incredible talent! I can't thank you enough for this magical experience!
Most definitely waiting on the next one!

I am sitting in the Billings, MT airport, reflecting on the last 4 days with Sarah of Lane Equine Photography. Her workshop was an amazing experience. Sarah pours her heart into her work, dedicating countless hours to planning each session and scouting the perfect locations to create unforgettable images. She is incredibly generous with her knowledge, sharing everything from marketing strategies to tips on creating images and experiences that clients will love.
Our wonderful group laughed a LOT, learned a ton and I’m heading home feeling not only more inspired, but also incredibly grateful for all the creative opportunities provided by Sarah over the last few days.
If you're looking to attend an equine photography workshop with someone who embodies professionalism, kindness, and a true love for her craft, Lane Equine Photography is the one to go to!

Prairie Cowgirl Photography
Sarah Lane of Lane Equine Photography is a fabulous host and has the most wonderful workshops to attend. She posted a workshop for Provo Canyon Utah and the Bonneville Salt Flats. I contacted her and asked her a million questions, she was so polite, professional and kind. Through our numerous conversations I knew I had to attend. I had been following her for quite sometime and I liked her creative style. I had looked at other workshops and there was just something different about hers that stood out. Sarah's attention to detail was obvious during the entire trip. She put so much thought and effort into creating a flawless itinerary for all the photographers. I traveled by car for 3 days with Sarah, model Stephanie Passmore (also the make-up artist for the shoot) and model Kiri Coad, this was such a highlight for me. I had the best time with these ladies I couldn't have traveled with more beautiful kinder souls.... much love!!! Whenever we would arrive at a location for the shoot, there were additional lovely models, photographers, sponsors, gorgeous horses and a longhorn. So many people there to be part of such a memorable event. With Sarah's guidance we were able to capture amazing photography content, I came away a better photographer. I witnessed Sarah work tirelessly for days on end getting barely any sleep. At the end of the photoshoots she even personally drove me to the airport at 3:00 am and then she drove to a sunrise photoshoot with another client, now that is kindness as well as dedication to her craft!!! So If you have the opportunity to attend her workshops, do not hestitate this will be a monumental experience for you as it was for me. I would consider this such a special adventure that I will always love and cherish. It was a Blessing! Sarah's photography comes from the heart and I can relate because that is how I feel, that is why I chose her to be my mentor. There is one thing to be a good photographer and another to be a good person. With Sarah you hit the jackpot! Thank you so much again Sarah! -Happy Trails and Much Gratitude - Prairie Cowgirl Photography

I recently attended a Lane Equine Photography workshop that took place in Wyoming & Montana. Prior to the workshop, Sara communicated very well with all my questions and concerns. The overall workshop was an AMAZING experience. It exceeded my expectations. Each day was very well planned and organized. Sara was very helpful during each session. She always checked in on us while we were shooting. She picked amazing locations and wonderful models and it was overall a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Lane photography workshops for anybody who is looking to learn more.

As someone who is just starting out in photography, I would definitely recommend taking a workshop from Lane Equine Photography!
She went beyond what I had expected it would be like. By telling us what settings she was using and why, looking at how we where taking photos and telling us what settings to adjust, how to shoot from sunrise to sunset and full sun, to showing us how she edits her photo’s.
It was definitely a lot of fun! I never would have expected the types of shoots she had planned, especially when the plans changed at the last minute! It didn’t feel like that happened at all and I still had a great experience.
She puts everything into making sure you have the best learning opportunity’s you could have, while still having fun!

Sarah creates a photography workshop like no other. Every detail has been planned and prepared well in advance; the models, the horses, the location, and the story. Whether you have been a photographer for years or just starting out, you will gain invaluable knowledge as well as a life long friend. She has a passion for light and portraying her subjects in unforgettable photographs that leave the viewer breathless. I highly recommend signing up for one of her workshops, you will not regret it.
