Alaska- Icelandic Horse expedition
-
I have found an Icelandic horse ranch near Talkeetna, Alaska where we will have the trip that many dream of and never embark upon in their lifetime. The ranch is chartering a bush plane to transport us from Anchorage to their remote operation 150 miles from the nearest road and 70 miles from the nearest town. The flight on the bush plane alone will leave you breathless and filled with photographic opportunities, offering fantastical views of the Alaskan wilderness.
The ranch owner told me that walking out of the guest cabins, you will feel like you’ve woken up in the Tetons. We will be traveling to this incredible destination during peak wildflower season, photographing Icelandic foals in carpets of flower fields with astounding views. There will also be a day when we will ride these rare Icelandic horses to one of our shoot destinations. Their foals tag along on these adventures and will provide ample photo ops. If you are not fit for hiking moderate distances to shoot locations, it is an add on feature to have a horse pack you and your gear out.
The Icelandic horses live on thousands of acres of open range. They will be located by airplane and rounded up on foot/ATV back into the ranch for our FIVE DAY experience. There are no fancy dresses or models in this workshop other than a couple of ranch hands and the owner. Attendees will have the option to model in the photos themselves and have their experience captured by me in a beautiful way. However, the primary focus will be on the beauty of the Icelandic horse in wild Alaska, and on providing you with the most unique experience of your lifetime.
We will witness a traditional haying, working ranch activity, herd behaviors as the ponies roam around the cabin areas, and more. There is also the possibility of seeing wildlife in the likes of caribou, moose, bear, and more. This is a very rare opportunity and I highly anticipate it being something that will not be matched by any other workshop in the country.
The first expedition in July will be offered at special pricing of $4500. A second trip will take place in August for $5,000. This is a very costly experience for me to reserve, afforded to you at incredible group rates for the length of the stay. Only four photographers are allowed per trip, and with your bag you must weigh under 200 pounds. A $1250 deposit is required. Prices will raise to $6500 in 2026. The cost is all inclusive, with exception of your commercial airline to Anchorage.
Tombstone, Arizona

Join me as I travel back into a time of gunslingers, cattle rustlers, horse thieves, and cowboy gangs. In Tombstone, we will walk the famed OK Corral, location of the famous shootout between Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, Virgil and Morgan Earp, and the Clanton-McClaury Gang.
Tombstone is a western equine photographer’s paradise. Our all-inclusive stay will include trips to the turquoise mines, ghost towns, local ranches, and of course- the wild west town itself. We will ride on stagecoaches and take in Arizona’s scenery on horseback. As always, a special experience is planned to offer you some of the most authentic shots that you could ever achieve for a western portfolio.
The all-inclusive cost is $3,500.
